MiniTech locks are reset and setup using Windows software and peripheral equipment. The setup software is used to set the operating parameters for a MiniTech, which are then programmed into the complete lock system.

Depending on the firmware version of the MiniTech keypad, different features are available, and the method of resetting and setting up is different.

Keypad firmware versions up to v1.12
- Can only be reset and setup with a Dallas key
- Users 02-10 are available

Keypad firmware versions from v1.13
- Can be reset and setup directly from a computer or with a Dallas key
- Users 02-59 are available

Keypad firmware versions from v1.16
- 1 keypad can operate 2 locks

To find the keypad firmware version:

  • Press and hold 8 (In 2-lock systems, select lock 1, then press and hold 8)

Download and unpack the file

  • Click the button below to access a webpage where a .zip (Compressed) file with the software package can be downloaded
  • On the web page that opens, click the Download button located top left on the page. Do not click the file itself

The zipped file will download to either the downloads folders, or another location depending on your browser. Once the file has downloaded, it must be unpacked or unzipped.

  • Locate then right click the file and select Extract all…. If the file has been supplied on a USB flash drive, copy the file to your computer and extract it.
If it is not possible to unpack the .zip file using the Extract all... command, download suitable unpacking software such as 7-zip

Install the driver

In the extracted folder, open the folder Driver and double click the application USBXpressInstaller.exe

Allow the file to run if prompted and wait for the driver to finish installing.

If your PC has been updated to the latest version of Windows 10, it is possible that installation of the driver may be blocked. An alternative driver and installation process is available here

Install the MiniTech setup software

In the extracted folder, double click the application MiniTechSetup_1.34.exe

Allow the file to run if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions. A shortcut will be placed on the desktop if selected.
